Dear Coach,
We are pleased to host the 16th annual
Medway Cup soccer tournament to be held on Saturday and Sunday, May
24-25, 2008 at the Medway Middle School in Medway, Massachusetts. The
Medway Cup has hosted teams from across Massachusetts and New England.
In accordance with MYSA rules, we will provide non-result-oriented play
for U-8, U-9 and U-10 teams and a more competitive level for U-11, U-12
and U13/14 teams. This year, we will offer 8v8 play for the U13/14
age bracket.
Team Requirements:
Any town travel, recreational or
intramural teams will be accepted. Teams may be assembled for this
tournament provided that all players are currently registered with their
appropriate state association. Premier, club, and state select teams
are exempt.

Tournament Details:
-
Tournament is
held at one venue, for 6V6 play (Medway
Middle School complex)
-
On-site
registration as well as various concessions
-
This is a patch
tournament. Patches are exchanged at the end of each game
-
Every attempt
will be made to schedule games within a 3-4 hour period
-
Designated space
for team tents and meeting areas
-
U8,U9, and U10
teams (Non result-oriented)
-
4 guaranteed
6v6 games (Two on Saturday and two on Sunday)
-
Participation
trophies for all in this bracket
-
No more than
12 players are recommended per game
-
U11, U12 and
U13/14
teams (Competitive)
-
Minimum of 3
8v8 games (Format depends on number of teams)
-
Teams will be
bracketed depending on number of teams and skill level
-
Playoffs on
Sunday; Trophies awarded to winner and runner up
-
No more than
15 players are recommended per game
Additional Game
Information:

All games
officiated by USSF-certified referees
-
Games consist of
two 20-minute halves with a 5 minute half time
-
All coaches
should refer to the Tournament Rules and
Regulations.

Scores to be posted for U11, U12 and U13/14 teams

Schedule information will be posted at
www.medwaysoccer.com one
week prior to the tournament. Any requests or issues regarding
scheduling should be made well in advance. Changes to the schedule
cannot be made once schedule is posted.
Application Procedure:

$300 entry fee,
per team, for 6V6 play

$385 entry fee,
per team, for 8V8 play
