Instructional

Instructional PracticeInstructional is Medway Youth Soccer's introductory program for children 4 – 5 years old (last year of pre-school before kindergarten). The goal of this coed program is to familiarize players with the primary skills of soccer such as balance, coordination, and ball control, as well as introduce the basic rules and concepts of the game. Sessions are structured to be non-competitive, with the goal of ensuring players get as many touches on the ball as possible through fun and engaging activities. The curriculum is jointly developed with the New England Revolution Academy, with lesson plans provided to our volunteer parent-coaches each week.

When: The Instructional program takes place on Saturday mornings and runs for 9 weeks. This season we will have two sessions from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Where: Lower Oakland (the fields below the Oakland Park playground).

Cost and Equipment: The Instructional program is $85, which includes a t-shirt. Players are required to wear shin guards and cleats are optional.
